The Intelligent Climbing Method

The seminal GEKKO Junior is the sole commercial robot who is fit to move autonomously on smooth vertical surfaces. The revolutionary invention is based on feet, with vacuum technology, which are rotating on two trapezoid-shaped geared belt drives, enabling the robot to astonishing flexible movement in every chosen direction.

The standard version of the GEKKO Junior includes a wireless remote control. There is an option of a video cam which sends pictures to the monitor of the remote control. The unique high-tech software governs the complex motion sequences for each foot on the rotating belt. Particular manoeuvers such as right/left or u-turns are convenient standard features. Due to sensors the robot is able stop inadequate manoeuvers. This safety guard grants a safe and easy handling of the GEKKO Junior.

Panel Cleaning (Solar plants)

Why? A new use for the GEKKO robots is cleaning solar panels. The efficiency of a solar panel can be increased considerably by cleaning it regularly. Considering the fragile nature and often difficult accessibility of most solar panels, that is normally easier said than done.

Our robots remove reliably any dirt on the solar plant, be it dust, bird excrement, moss or lichen.

The GEKKO system offers a safe solution to any cleaning issues with photovoltaic panels and can even operate at night.

The Multi-Talent

Initially the GEKKO Junior has been designed for large surfaces of modern architecture. Hence, the robot is equipped with a soft rotating brush. Ordinary tap water is led through a filter resulting in demineralised water and when desired enriched by a chosen detergent at the supply trolley. The liquid is transferred to the robot through a single, flexible supply hose.

There is an almost endless range for the manifold applications beside the cleaning purpose. The GEKKO Junior is a multifunctional automated vehicle.

Further Applications

• Cleaning of glass facades...modern constructions formed in all kinds of shapes.
• Cleaning of photovoltaic plants…the manual cleaning of solar panels is a time-consuming matter, satisfactory cleaning result are difficult to accomplish and staff might be at risk.
• Functional tests of solar panels…with a special test device the robot is able to check the power output of each solar panel, thus the actual state of a photovoltaic plant can be evaluated.
• Advertisement on constructions…software controlled spraying tools positioned by the GEKKO Junior puts your slogans, company logos or ads on any building.
• Inspections of facades and other constructions…With the help of some accessories can endangering cracks and other defects e.g. signs of fatigue on steel be detected.
• Repairs of mounted glass…during the construction work on buildings, as well as other risks, glass is often
damaged and is hard to replace. The new glass technology combined with the GEKKO Junior will allow repairs right on the spot.
• Tank /Ship Cleaning…by use of magnets instead of vacuum technology the robot is fit to clean tanks and ships.

Supply

All supplies like electrical power, air pressure and the cleaning detergent are supplied by one premium, flexible supply hose which is attached to the supply trolley.
